DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT: Blyott takes the protection of your data seriously. Below is a presentation of how we handle your personal data at Blyott:

1. Protection and usage of your personal data

1.1. Protection

Your personal data is stored by Blyott on servers of Amazon Web Services with state-of-the-art protection and is secured against unauthorized access. Blyott employees are obliged to maintain confidentiality and security with regard to personal data. Blyott will not disclose or share your personal data to a third party at any time without your express consent unless: a) sharing this information is necessary in order to provide the services you wish to use; b) a subcontractor or a partner, which we employ in the context of providing services, requires this data (subcontractors are only entitled to use data insofar as this is necessary for the provision of services); c) an enforceable official or court order exists.

1.2. Usage

Collecting data helps us to develop and improve our digital presence and to optimize our range of services. We will use the data we collect about you for the following purposes: a) to enable your use of the digital presence (establishing a connection); b) for internal, system-related purposes, such as technical administration and system security; c) for statistical purposes, in order to enable us to tailor the digital presence more closely to your needs through the anonymous evaluation of general user behavior; d) to provide logins, online services and contractually-compliant processing of these services.

2. Collection of general information

The following information will be stored in a log file automatically when you access these web pages: Date and time of access, IP address, link opened, information about the web browser and operating system, amount of data transferred, error code, and user name in the case of customized access. This data will also be generated when any other website is visited and is, therefore, not a special function of our website. Data is saved for security purposes and to improve our offer. This data is evaluated purely for statistical purposes in an anonymized form. This data is deleted after 14 days. Different rules apply to users of our web shop (see below).

3. Use of cookies and web analysis services

3.1. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file containing information that allows the identification of recurring visitors to our website. Cookies will be stored on your computer. This makes it possible to adapt our websites to your requirements (for example, language, country assignment) and to assign information to the session step during a session. Only the cookie on your computer is identified in order to ascertain whether your computer has already accessed our website. Cookies also offer the option for you, as a user of customized services, not to have to register each time. Personal data will not be generated or forwarded in any case, nor will a link to personal data be established. The use of all our website's functions requires cookies to be allowed during a session. Current browsers have a security setting that ensures that cookies are deleted automatically at the end of a session.

Screen resolution, JavaScript enabled, Java on/off, Cookies on/off, Colour depth, Referrer URL (page visited previously), IP address, Time of access, Clicks, Order values, Content of forms (free text fields, for example, name and password, are only tracked as 'completed' or 'empty').

3.2. IP address

The IP address will be transmitted with each server request so that the server knows where to send an answer. Everyone gets an IP address from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) as soon as a connection is made to the Internet, and the ISP can track which IP address was assigned to which of its customers on what date. As long as the IP address remains stored, it is theoretically possible to identify the subscriber via the ISP, we and our statistics service provider, therefore, only store IP addresses in an abbreviated (anonymized) form and only use them for session identification, geolocation (up to city level) and to protect against attacks. IP addresses are then deleted immediately, and consequently, the data collected is anonymous, and the identity of the user can no longer be established via the ISP.

3.3. Cookie settings

Our website also uses cookies for web tracking (see also 3.1). The following cookies are set: Session cookies, Long-term cookies, Opt-out cookies, and Opt-in cookies.

3.4.   VPN Tunnels

When customers use our VPN services, we never look into the (data) content of the VPN tunnels. We only keep track of the origin and destination IP addresses, the type of encryptions being used, and the amount of bandwidth consumed.

4. Blyott mobile application

The Blyott mobile application for installation on cellular/mobile phones (the ‘Blyott Mobile App’) collects location data to enable the tracking of Blyott sensors, even when the Blyott Mobile App is closed or not in use. The Blyott Mobile App does not track the individual cellular/mobile phone or the user associated with the cellular/mobile phone.

When the Blyott Mobile App discovers a Blyott sensor(s), it will only report back the location of the sensor(s) to the Blyott cloud platform on the servers of Amazon Web Services. No other information is collected and/or stored. This tracking feature is not enabled when installing the Blyott Mobile App; the user must enable this feature manually. The user can disable the feature at any time via the “Settings” tab inside the Blyott Mobile app.
